What's Happening?
U.S.-based cybersecurity firm N-able Inc is set to expand its workforce in India by at least 50% by the end of 2026. The company, which provides IT management, cybersecurity, and data protection software to over 500,000 organizations globally, has opened
a Global Capability Center (GCC) in Bengaluru. This center currently employs more than 100 people. The expansion is part of a broader trend in India's GCC ecosystem, which is projected to reach 2.36 million employees by 2026, driven largely by demand in AI and cybersecurity. CEO John Pagliuca emphasized that the move is motivated by access to talent rather than cost reduction, highlighting the competitive market for AI and cybersecurity professionals in Bengaluru.
Why It's Important?
This expansion underscores the growing importance of AI and cybersecurity in the global tech landscape. By increasing its workforce in India, N-able aims to leverage the country's deep pool of talent in AI engineering, applied machine learning, cloud security, and threat research. This move is significant as it positions N-able to better combat the rising threat of cybercriminals using generative AI for sophisticated attacks. The Bengaluru team will be crucial in developing defensive AI capabilities, including automated threat detection and faster response times. This strategic expansion could enhance N-able's competitive edge in the cybersecurity industry, potentially influencing other U.S. firms to follow suit.
What's Next?
N-able's expansion in India is expected to continue as the company seeks to build a strong foundation for long-term growth. The focus will be on attracting high-caliber talent through competitive packages and career development opportunities. As the demand for AI and cybersecurity expertise grows, N-able's presence in Bengaluru could play a pivotal role in shaping the future of cybersecurity solutions. The company's efforts may also prompt increased collaboration with local technology firms and educational institutions to further develop the talent pool.
