What's Happening?
Maola Local Dairies has introduced a new line of ultrafiltered milks called Maola More, which includes prebiotic fiber. The product is available in original whole milk and 2% reduced fat chocolate milk varieties. This lactose-free milk is designed to meet
consumer demands for higher protein content, easier digestion, and lactose-free options, while also supporting gut health. Each serving contains 15 grams of protein and 5 to 8 grams of sugar. According to Jon Cowell, CEO of Maola, the product aims to combine hydration, nutrition, and indulgence, catering to milk consumers of all ages. The new milk line is available at select retailers.
Why It's Important?
The introduction of Maola More reflects a growing trend in the dairy industry towards functional beverages that cater to health-conscious consumers. By incorporating prebiotic fiber, Maola is addressing the increasing consumer interest in gut health. This move could potentially expand Maola's market share by appealing to consumers seeking nutritional benefits beyond traditional milk. The product's lactose-free formulation also taps into the demand for dairy alternatives among lactose-intolerant individuals. As health trends continue to influence consumer choices, Maola's innovation may set a precedent for other dairy producers to enhance their offerings with added health benefits.
