What's Happening?
The Southern Miss Golden Eagles are revisiting their 1975 football season, a year marked by significant achievements and challenges. Under the leadership of Head Coach Bobby Collins, the team ended the season with an 8-3 record. Notably, the team played
all their home games away from their usual stadium due to renovations, achieving victories in Biloxi and Jackson. Despite their strong performance, the team did not qualify for postseason play due to the limited number of bowl games and stricter qualifications at the time. The 1975 team is remembered for its notable players, including quarterback Jeff Bower and running back Ben Garry, and for its significant wins against Cal State Fullerton and BYU.
