The Cannes Frontières Platform, a major genre showcase, is set to feature a diverse lineup of films from around the world, highlighting the growing artistic ambition within the genre film industry. The event, scheduled for May 16-17, will include films such
as 'Queen of Malacca' by Indonesian filmmaker Angga Dwimas Sasongko and 'The Glorious Dead' by the Adams Family, known for their DIY horror productions. The platform, presented by Canada's Fantasia International Film Festival and Cannes Marché du Film, received a record 124 submissions this year. It aims to connect seasoned producers with new voices in the genre film community, showcasing projects in both the Proof of Concept and Buyers Showcase sections.
