What's Happening?
Elle Afrique Francophone, a new edition of the renowned fashion magazine, has been launched by Lagardère Group in partnership with Innsaei Sarl. This edition targets French-speaking African countries, including Benin, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Gabon, and Senegal, with plans to expand to over 20 markets by year-end. The magazine, led by Franco-Ivorian media entrepreneur Frédérique Nanan, will publish three print issues annually and maintain a robust digital presence. The inaugural issue features supermodel Naomi Campbell and highlights 24 influential African women across various sectors.
Why It's Important?
The launch of Elle Afrique Francophone represents a significant expansion of the Elle brand into African markets, reflecting the continent's growing influence
in global fashion and culture. By focusing on local content and featuring prominent African figures, the magazine aims to empower African women and reshape narratives around African creativity and innovation. This move aligns with broader trends of global luxury brands increasing their presence in Africa, recognizing the continent's potential as a burgeoning market for fashion and lifestyle products.
