What's Happening?
The Aerospace Museum in McClellan Park is celebrating Earth Day 2026 with a special event called Earth S.T.E.A.M. Day. Scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the event aims to engage children and families with activities
focused on science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM). Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with Makani, a pioneer in airborne wind turbines, and visit the NASA Space Theatre to learn about planetary science. The event is designed to foster curiosity and a deeper understanding of environmental science among young visitors.
Why It's Important?
This event highlights the importance of integrating educational activities with environmental awareness, particularly for younger generations. By focusing on STEAM subjects, the Aerospace Museum is promoting critical thinking and innovation, which are essential for addressing future environmental challenges. The inclusion of interactive exhibits like Makani and the NASA Space Theatre provides a hands-on learning experience that can inspire children to pursue careers in science and technology. Such initiatives are crucial for cultivating a generation that is informed and proactive about environmental issues.
