What's Happening?
The Red Bull Soapbox Race took place in downtown Los Angeles, featuring nonmotorized carts racing down a custom course filled with turns, jumps, and obstacles. The event, known for its creativity and entertainment, saw teams of up to five members perform
skits before racing their uniquely themed carts. Themes ranged from food items like ramen and hot dogs to movie-inspired designs such as 'Dune' and 'E.T.' The race attracted hundreds of spectators along the route from Grand Avenue to Broadway on 1st Street. Despite some carts facing challenges, such as a fire truck cart losing a tire, the event was filled with laughter and excitement. Forty teams from across the country participated, judged on creativity, showmanship, and speed.
