What's Happening?
GTT has received an order from Jiangnan Shipyard to design the cryogenic tanks for two new Liquefied Natural Gas Carriers (LNGCs) for Eastern Pacific Shipping, a Singapore-based ship-owner. The tanks, each with a capacity of 175,000 cubic meters, will feature the Mark III Flex membrane containment system developed by GTT. The delivery of these vessels is anticipated by the end of 2028. This order marks a significant step in the collaboration between GTT and Jiangnan Shipyard, enhancing the capabilities of Eastern Pacific Shipping in LNG transportation.
Why It's Important?
This development is crucial for the LNG shipping industry, as it highlights the ongoing demand for advanced LNG carriers equipped with state-of-the-art containment systems. The order underscores
the importance of LNG as a cleaner energy source and the need for efficient transportation solutions. For Eastern Pacific Shipping, this order enhances its fleet capabilities, potentially increasing its market share in the LNG transportation sector. The collaboration also strengthens the relationship between GTT and Jiangnan Shipyard, potentially leading to more future projects.
