What's Happening?
Airkey, a China-based cleanroom manufacturer, has successfully designed and delivered a modular ISO 8 cleanroom for an Australian client involved in pharmaceutical, veterinary, cosmeceutical, and food industries. The cleanroom, measuring 36.5 square meters,
was pre-assembled in the factory to address the client's concerns about installation quality and timeline. The client visited the factory in China, where they observed the assembly process and participated in it, gaining confidence in the product's quality and ease of installation. The cleanroom features a contamination control sequence with a changing room, buffer room, and laboratory area, and uses adjustable raised floors to accommodate an uneven site floor without modifications.
Why It's Important?
This project highlights the importance of factory pre-assembly in international construction projects, particularly for clients located far from the manufacturing site. By witnessing the assembly process firsthand, the client gained assurance about the cleanroom's quality and the feasibility of its installation, reducing the risk of delays or complications. This approach not only builds client confidence but also serves as an informal training session, equipping the client's staff with the knowledge needed for future reconfigurations or expansions. The successful delivery of this cleanroom could set a precedent for similar projects, emphasizing the value of client involvement in the manufacturing process.
What's Next?
The Australian client is expected to proceed with the on-site assembly of the cleanroom with minimal risk of delays, thanks to the comprehensive factory demonstration. The knowledge gained during the factory visit will aid in the smooth installation and potential future modifications. Airkey's approach may encourage other manufacturers to adopt similar strategies, enhancing client satisfaction and project success rates in international deliveries.
