What's Happening?
American Uranium is set to begin drilling at its Lo Herma In-Situ Recovery Project in Wyoming in May 2026. The company plans to drill up to 55 holes, including infill drilling at Mine Unit 1 and expansion
drilling at newly secured mineral rights south of Mine Unit 2. This campaign aims to support ongoing hydrogeological and technical field programs for future development studies. The results are expected to contribute to a resource estimate update ahead of a planned Scoping Study in Q3 2026. The project spans 13,500 acres in the Powder River Basin, hosting a JORC-compliant resource of 8.57 million pounds of triuranium octoxide.
Why It's Important?
The drilling campaign is significant as it represents a step forward in the development of domestic uranium resources, which are crucial for energy security and reducing reliance on foreign imports. With uranium prices experiencing a significant increase, the project could become economically viable, attracting further investment and potentially leading to increased production capacity. This development aligns with broader efforts to secure critical mineral supplies and support the U.S. energy sector.
What's Next?
Following the drilling campaign, American Uranium will focus on analyzing the results to update its resource estimates and prepare for the Scoping Study. The company is also conducting a non-renounceable pro-rata entitlement offer to fund exploration, which will open on May 1 and close on May 15, 2026. Stakeholders will be watching the outcomes closely, as successful drilling could lead to further development and expansion of the project.
