What's Happening?
Artnet, in collaboration with the Association for Women in the Arts (AWITA), has initiated the second edition of a global research project aimed at addressing gender inequity in the art world. The 2026 Hardwiring Change survey seeks to gather data from
thousands of arts professionals worldwide to replace anecdotal evidence with concrete data on issues such as pay, leadership, career mobility, and workplace conditions. This survey builds on the findings of the inaugural survey and will also explore the impact of emerging technologies like artificial intelligence on professional advancement. The survey is open for participation until March 17, and results will be unveiled at a public event in June, which will include senior leaders, government representatives, and media members.
