What's Happening?
Baker Hughes has signed a 60-month services agreement with Petrobras to provide critical turbomachinery support for Brazil's offshore production and refining operations. The contract includes maintenance and engineering services for up to 64 aeroderivative
gas turbines used in Petrobras' floating production, storage, and offloading vessels, as well as at the Replan refinery. This agreement, which began in February 2026, is executed through Baker Hughes' service center in Petrópolis, Rio de Janeiro. The company plans to expand the center's capabilities to enhance equipment performance and support Brazil's local supply chain.
Why It's Important?
This agreement reinforces Baker Hughes' strategic partnership with Petrobras and its commitment to Brazil's energy sector. By providing advanced service solutions, Baker Hughes aims to improve the reliability and efficiency of Petrobras' operations, which are crucial for maintaining production continuity in Brazil's offshore oil fields. The expansion of the service center is expected to bolster local supply chains and workforce development, contributing to the region's economic growth. This deal highlights the ongoing investment in lifecycle services and the importance of reliable operations in the energy industry, particularly in offshore sectors.
