What's Happening?
Jason Hyde Jewelry, a South Florida-based brand, is creating stunning pieces aimed at protecting the ocean and beaches. Co-founder Deborah Singer explained that each piece begins as plastic pulled from the ocean, transformed through upcycling into beautiful
jewelry. The brand supports the local non-profit Clean Miami Beach, which conducts educational activities and beach cleanups. Founded in Miami in 2018, Jason Hyde has expanded to multiple locations, including Aventura, Dadeland, and Brickell City Centre. The brand's collections celebrate unique aspects of South Florida, such as the Wewa collection, named after the Seminole word for water.
Why It's Important?
Jason Hyde Jewelry's commitment to ocean conservation through sustainable design reflects a growing trend in the fashion industry towards environmental responsibility. By transforming ocean plastic into jewelry, the brand not only reduces environmental impact but also raises awareness about the importance of protecting marine ecosystems. The partnership with Clean Miami Beach further amplifies this message, engaging the community in conservation efforts. As consumers increasingly prioritize sustainability, brands that align with these values are likely to attract a loyal customer base and contribute to positive environmental change.
