Range Energy, a company specializing in trailer electrification, has completed a multi-year winter testing program for its production-ready eTrailer system. The tests were conducted at the Smithers Winter Proving Ground in Michigan's Upper Peninsula,
a site used by major automakers for cold-weather vehicle validation. The eTrailer system demonstrated superior performance, safety, and reliability in extreme cold conditions, maintaining control on snow and ice where traditional trailers often lose stability. This testing marks a significant milestone as Range Energy transitions from prototype validation to commercial deployment. The eTrailer system integrates a 250 kW e-motor, inverter, gearbox, suspension, regenerative braking, and onboard batteries, offering immediate fuel savings and eliminating diesel use for refrigerated units.
