What's Happening?
The Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS (DIFFA) held its annual Angels & Demons gala at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in Manhattan, raising approximately $400,000. The event was attended by over 300 guests from the design and fashion industries.
The evening featured performances, a candlelit dinner, and a presentation by Christian Siriano. Fern Mallis, a founding board member of DIFFA, was honored for her contributions. The funds raised will support DIFFA's initiatives, which include providing healthcare access and addressing food and housing insecurity, as well as mental health challenges.
Why It's Important?
The funds raised at the DIFFA gala are crucial for supporting organizations that provide essential services to individuals affected by HIV/AIDS and other social issues. DIFFA's work extends beyond healthcare, addressing broader societal challenges such as food and housing insecurity. The gala highlights the role of the design and fashion industries in driving social change and supporting vulnerable communities. By raising awareness and funds, DIFFA continues to make a significant impact on public health and social welfare.
