Ivanhoe Electric Inc. has announced plans to acquire a Robbins Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) and material handling system for the development of the Santa Cruz Copper Project in Arizona. The acquisition is part of Ivanhoe Electric's strategy to enhance
mine access development and future expansion opportunities at the project site. The TBM, originally used at the Grosvenor coal mine in Australia, will be refurbished and upgraded to suit the geological conditions at Santa Cruz. This move is expected to streamline the decline development phase and support the project's long-term growth.
