What's Happening?
Camp Tuscazoar, located near Zoarville, Ohio, is set to host its annual Maple Days breakfast on March 28 and 29. The event will feature an all-you-can-eat breakfast including pancakes, eggs, sausage, and applesauce, with maple syrup samples available.
The breakfast serves as a fundraiser to support maintenance, repairs, and construction projects at the historic 800-acre camp. Visitors can also purchase bottles and jugs of Camp Tuscazoar's all-natural maple syrup. The camp, which is a stop on the Maple Madness Driving Tour sponsored by the Ohio Maple Producers Association, offers guests the opportunity to explore its Centennial Trail, marked with 100 historic sites. The W.C. Moorhead Museum will be open during the event, showcasing memorabilia from the camp's early days to the present.
Why It's Important?
The Maple Days breakfast at Camp Tuscazoar is significant as it supports the preservation and maintenance of a historic site that has been a part of the community for over a century. The event not only raises funds for the camp but also promotes local maple syrup producers, connecting them with consumers and educating the public about the production of pure Ohio maple syrup. This initiative helps sustain local agriculture and supports the economy by encouraging tourism and community engagement. Additionally, the event provides an opportunity for visitors to learn about the camp's history and enjoy outdoor activities, fostering a sense of community and appreciation for local heritage.
