NPR Music is celebrating Black Music Month by launching a special Tiny Desk series that honors the legacy of Black Entertainment Television (BET) and its impact on Black music and culture. Starting June 2, the series will feature performances from 10
artists, including Bow Wow, Eve, and Shaboozey, among others. This initiative marks the fifth year of Tiny Desk's tradition of celebrating Black music. The series will be available on NPR.org and NPR Music's YouTube channel. BET icons such as Donnie Simpson and Big Tigger are involved in announcing the lineup. The series aims to reflect the essence of Black music and acknowledges BET's role in promoting Black artistry since the 1980s.
