What's Happening?
Kwik Trip, a convenience-store chain based in La Crosse, Wisconsin, has introduced a new mascot named 'Red,' a white chicken wearing a red Kwik Trip T-shirt. Red is set to embark on a six-week tour across approximately 60 stores in Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota,
South Dakota, and North Dakota. The tour, known as the Red Zone Midwest Tour, aims to engage communities and offer customers the chance to win prizes and take photos with the mascot. Red made its debut at an event featuring Children's Miracle Network Heroes, marking the beginning of Kwik Trip's partnership with Gundersen Emplify, which supports families through a scrip program. This initiative allows families to purchase discounted gift cards to help offset medical and other expenses. Kwik Trip is ranked 11th on CSP's 2026 Top 40 update of U.S. convenience-store chains by store count.
Why It's Important?
The introduction of Red as Kwik Trip's new mascot is a strategic move to enhance customer engagement and community involvement. By touring multiple states, Kwik Trip aims to strengthen its brand presence and foster a sense of community among its customers. The partnership with Gundersen Emplify highlights the company's commitment to social responsibility, providing financial support to families in need. This initiative not only boosts Kwik Trip's public image but also aligns with its goal of being a community-focused business. The mascot's tour and associated events are expected to increase foot traffic to Kwik Trip stores, potentially boosting sales and customer loyalty.
What's Next?
Following the initial six-week tour, Kwik Trip plans to continue leveraging Red for community engagement and promotional events. The company is open to requests for Red to appear at various events, indicating a long-term strategy to maintain customer interaction and brand visibility. Kwik Trip's ongoing efforts to support local communities and families suggest that future collaborations and initiatives may be in the pipeline, further solidifying its role as a community-oriented business.
