What's Happening?
Lisa Hanna, a former Miss World and Jamaican politician, has launched a new beauty brand named Lisa Hanna Beauty. The luxury skincare line, which includes seven products, is available directly to consumers and at The Spa by Equinox Hotels. Hanna emphasizes
'aging intelligently' and aims to communicate with the skin at a deeper level. The products range in price from $50 to $130 and feature a proprietary technology combining lipids, vitamin C, and matrikin peptides. Hanna anticipates the brand could achieve over $1 million in sales in its first year. Additionally, 5% of the profits will support the Lisa Hanna Foundation, which addresses education, mental health, and housing needs in Jamaica.
Why It's Important?
The launch of Lisa Hanna Beauty highlights the growing trend of mission-driven brands in the beauty industry. By integrating philanthropy into her business model, Hanna not only aims to capture a share of the competitive skincare market but also to make a positive impact on her community in Jamaica. This approach could inspire other entrepreneurs to incorporate social responsibility into their business strategies. Furthermore, Hanna's entry into the beauty market underscores the potential for former public figures to leverage their influence and personal brand to succeed in new ventures.
