What's Happening?
WorldHotels, a global brand within the BWH Hotels portfolio, has announced the launch of WorldHotels Backdrop, a new collection of upscale glamping retreats and outdoor escapes. This collection features accommodations such as canvas-tented rooms and riverside
cabins located in scenic destinations worldwide, including mountains, coastlines, and near national parks. The Backdrop collection aims to cater to the growing demand for immersive outdoor experiences that combine the beauty of nature with modern comforts. Current properties include Zion Wildflower Resort in Utah and Asheville River Cabins in North Carolina, with plans to expand to locations in Vietnam, Africa, and Australia.
Why It's Important?
The launch of WorldHotels Backdrop reflects a significant trend in the travel industry towards experiential and nature-based tourism. As travelers increasingly seek meaningful connections with nature, the demand for luxury outdoor accommodations is rising. This trend is particularly appealing to younger, experience-driven travelers who prioritize restoration and a deeper sense of destination. The expansion of the Backdrop collection not only enhances WorldHotels' portfolio but also positions the brand to capitalize on the growing glamping market, which is projected to reach $7.87 billion by 2033.
What's Next?
WorldHotels plans to continue expanding the Backdrop collection, with early discussions for new locations in Phan Thiet, Vietnam, as well as in Africa and Australia. This expansion will likely involve collaborations with local developers and property owners to maintain the unique character of each location while providing the support and resources needed to enhance performance. As the collection grows, WorldHotels aims to offer more diverse and immersive experiences to travelers seeking luxury outdoor accommodations.
