Armani Smith, a junior guard from Kirkwood High School, has been named the Leaf-Chronicle All Area boys basketball player of the year for the second consecutive season. Smith played a pivotal role in leading the Kirkwood Cobras to district and region
tournament championships, averaging 24 points, eight rebounds, three assists, and three steals per game. Despite missing part of the season due to injury, Smith returned to contribute significantly to his team's success. The Cobras finished the season with a 25-7 record, ultimately falling in overtime to Whitehaven in the sectional round.
