What's Happening?
Tanya Cohen, formerly a partner at Range Media Partners, has joined Made By Us Studios (MBU) as co-CEO. MBU, backed by Made By All (MBA), focuses on the creator economy, aiming to position creators at the center of value creation in the entertainment
industry. Cohen, alongside MBA founder Leanne Perice, will lead the studio, which partners with content creators boasting a combined 1.5 billion followers. The studio aims to reshape content creation by making creators partners in IP ownership and monetization.
Why It's Important?
Cohen's move to MBU highlights a shift in the entertainment industry towards the creator economy, where individual creators hold significant influence and value. This transition reflects broader industry trends where traditional media models are being challenged by digital platforms and social media influencers. By focusing on IP ownership and monetization, MBU aims to empower creators, potentially altering how content is produced and consumed. This could lead to more diverse and innovative content, driven by creators who have direct engagement with their audiences.
