FIFA, in partnership with Lenovo, is utilizing artificial intelligence to improve live broadcasts from referees' cameras during the World Cup. The technology addresses the issue of 'jitter,' which refers to the shakiness and motion-sickness-inducing movements
of video feeds attached to referees. By using AI, Lenovo has managed to reduce the shakiness in live ref cam videos by 50 percent. This advancement was first implemented during the 2025 Club World Cup and is now being used for the current World Cup broadcasts. Improved bandwidths have also contributed to reducing latency, making live broadcasts more feasible.
