Ford Performance chief engineer Carl Widmann has confirmed that there are no plans to introduce more aggressive R-rated variants for the Bronco Raptor or the Ranger Raptor. In a discussion with Road & Track, Widmann suggested that the Ranger Raptor might
already be at the upper limits of its performance capabilities, noting that it has significantly more power than any other truck in its class. The current Ranger Raptor is equipped with a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V-6 engine, which produces slightly less power than the Bronco Raptor's 418 horsepower but compensates with a lighter and smaller build. Despite the impressive performance of these models, they do not match the F-150 Raptor R's capabilities, which features a 5.2-liter V-8 engine. Widmann's comments indicate that Ford's Raptor lineup will remain unchanged in the near future, maintaining the current powertrain configurations.
