The Boston Bruins have announced the signing of forward James Hagens to a three-year entry-level contract, which will commence with the 2025-26 NHL season. The contract includes an annual NHL cap hit of $975,000. Hagens, a 19-year-old forward, was selected
by the Bruins in the first round, seventh overall, of the 2025 NHL Entry Draft. Prior to this contract, Hagens joined the Providence Bruins on an amateur tryout agreement (ATO) and played six AHL games, recording one goal and three assists. During his time at Boston College, Hagens led Hockey East skaters in scoring with 23 goals and 24 assists in 34 games. He was also named to the conference’s All-Rookie Team in the 2024-25 season. Before his collegiate career, Hagens played for the United States National Team Development Program, where he achieved significant scoring records.
