Amazon has entered into a partnership with Swedish startup Einride to incorporate 75 electric heavy-duty trucks into its Relay freight network in the United States. Under this agreement, Einride will not only supply the trucks but also manage them using
its proprietary Saga AI software. The trucks will be available for use by drivers within Amazon's Relay network, an app-based system that allows truck drivers to book hauling jobs with Amazon. Additionally, Einride will establish charging infrastructure at five locations across the U.S. This collaboration marks a significant step for Einride, which has been expanding its operations with a fleet of electric trucks serving companies like Heineken and PepsiCo in various regions, including Europe and North America. The deal does not include Einride's autonomous pod-like trucks, which are notable for their cab-less design.
