JetBlue Airways has been announced as the launch customer for FL Technics' new maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility at Punta Cana International Airport in the Dominican Republic. This partnership will see FL Technics providing airframe base
maintenance services for JetBlue's Airbus A320 family aircraft. The facility is expected to open in June, pending FAA audit timelines and certification. This marks the first time FL Technics will offer base maintenance services for JetBlue. The facility, constructed by Grupo Puntacana, represents a $70 million investment and is the first of its kind in the Dominican Republic. FL Technics has faced challenges in recruiting local talent with MRO experience but has successfully attracted over 3,500 applications, including 1,000 from certified engineers.
