What's Happening?
Zacatecas Silver has commenced its 2026 diamond drilling campaign at the El Cristo Project in Mexico's Zacatecas Mining District. The first hole, drilled by Major Drilling Mexico, reached a depth of 117 meters, targeting a sulphidation vein. The drilling encountered
a mineralized brecciated structure, indicating the presence of silver and base metals. The company plans to sample the hole and send samples for analysis. This drilling campaign is part of Zacatecas Silver's efforts to explore and develop its key projects, including the Zacatecas Silver Project and the Esperanza Gold Project.
Why It's Important?
The initiation of the drilling campaign at El Cristo is a significant step for Zacatecas Silver in advancing its exploration efforts. The presence of mineralized structures suggests potential for high-grade silver deposits, which could enhance the company's resource base and attract investment. Successful exploration and development of these projects could position Zacatecas Silver as a key player in the mining industry, contributing to economic growth and job creation in the region. The campaign also highlights the importance of continued exploration in meeting global demand for precious metals.
