Rick Armstrong's latest high school softball rankings for the Aurora-Elgin area have been released, showcasing significant changes in team standings. St. Charles North has taken the top spot, previously held by St. Charles East, following a narrow 1-0
victory in an eight-inning game against their DuKane Conference rivals. The win was secured by senior pitcher Abby Zawadzki and an RBI single from Miranda Quigley. Meanwhile, St. Charles East, now ranked second, rebounded with a 9-3 nonconference win over Libertyville, led by junior third baseman Ari Bigda. Other notable performances include South Elgin's Liv Miller, who contributed a home run and four RBIs in a 13-0 win over Larkin, and Yorkville's Kayla Kersting, who powered her team to a 14-4 victory over Lincoln-Way Central. The rankings also saw Hampshire entering the list at eighth place after winning the Larkin Slugfest. Senior catcher Hayden Sujack of St. Charles East was named Player of the Week for setting a school record with 50 career home runs.
