MetLife Investment Management has appointed Andrea Drasites as the global head of real estate and agricultural finance, effective October 1. Drasites will manage the firm's commercial mortgage and equity real estate portfolios, along with its agricultural investments,
which collectively amount to $108.9 billion in assets. She succeeds Robert Merck, who retired after 43 years with the firm. Drasites, who has been with Blackstone's real estate group for 13 years, will report to Brian Funk, the president of MetLife Investment Management. Her previous experience includes roles at Equity One Inc. and Woolbright Development. MetLife Investment Management oversees a total of $741.7 billion in assets, including those acquired through its acquisition of PineBridge Investments.
