What's Happening?
Richard James Burgess and his son Ace Burgess have launched two new ventures, AudioNumber and Interline Media Group, aimed at improving music rights valuation and publishing administration. Richard, who
has served as president and CEO of the American Association of Independent Music (A2IM) and is the current chairman of the UK's PPL, will chair both companies. Ace, who previously led engineering teams at Tunecore, will serve as president and CEO. AudioNumber provides analytics and valuation tools to help catalog investors and rights-holders identify undervalued assets, while Interline uses this technology to enhance publishing administration and maximize royalty recovery for artists and songwriters. Since its launch, Interline has secured multiple administration agreements and recovered significant uncollected royalties.
Why It's Important?
The launch of AudioNumber and Interline Media Group represents a significant development in the music industry, particularly for artists and rights-holders seeking to optimize their royalty collections. By leveraging advanced data intelligence, these ventures aim to provide more accurate valuations of music rights and improve the efficiency of royalty recovery. This could lead to increased revenue for artists and songwriters, who often face challenges in collecting all the royalties they are owed. Additionally, the ventures offer valuable insights to investors and rights-holders, potentially influencing investment decisions and the management of music catalogs.
