Global Partners has inaugurated its first electric vehicle (EV) charging station in Maine, located at an Alltown convenience store in Orono. This development is part of the company's broader strategy to expand its diverse fueling options across the Northeast.
The new DC fast-charging site is designed to provide quick and reliable charging for both local drivers and travelers, aligning with Maine's climate, energy, and transportation objectives. The project received nearly $300,000 in funding from the Efficiency Maine Trust's DCFC Maine Destinations program, which aims to accelerate the deployment of fast-charging infrastructure at key locations throughout the state. Global Partners collaborated with Electric Era, Revision Energy, and Versant Power to bring this site to fruition. This marks the company's eighth active EV site, with others located in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and New York.
