What's Happening?
XCharge North America, a subsidiary of XCHG Limited, has announced a partnership with Energy Plus to develop one of the largest battery-backed electric vehicle (EV) charging depots in the United States.
The project, located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, is set to become operational in the second quarter of 2026. It will feature 44 XCharge NA GridLink units, providing 9.46 MWh of energy storage and servicing 88 parking spaces. This initiative is part of Energy Plus's Eplug brand, which aims to offer next-generation urban charging solutions in high-demand areas like New York City. The depot will utilize GridLink's battery storage to alleviate grid pressure by storing energy during off-peak times and supplying it during peak demand, thus enhancing local energy resilience and affordability.
