What's Happening?
Elche has officially signed Buba Sangare on a permanent basis from Roma. The 18-year-old full-back, who was born in 2007, played 541 minutes for Elche last season and will continue to play for the Spanish club in the upcoming season. Roma announced the completion
of the deal on their official X account, confirming that Elche exercised their option to buy Sangare. As part of the agreement, Roma retains a 20% interest in any future capital gain from Sangare's resale and holds a right of first refusal. This transaction provides Roma with a small but significant capital gain, aiding them in complying with UEFA's Financial Fair Play regulations.
Why It's Important?
The transfer of Buba Sangare to Elche is significant for both clubs involved. For Elche, securing Sangare on a permanent deal strengthens their squad with a promising young talent, potentially enhancing their performance in the Spanish league. For Roma, the deal represents a strategic financial move, allowing them to benefit from future resale profits while adhering to Financial Fair Play requirements. This transaction underscores the importance of financial management in European football, where clubs must balance player acquisitions with regulatory compliance.
