The Mobile Sports Hall of Fame is set to induct four new members into its prestigious ranks in 2026. The inductees include former NFL player Derrick Burroughs, NBA star Derrick Coleman, former basketball
coach and current Spring Hill College Athletic Director Joe Niland, and MLB shortstop Eric Yelding. The induction ceremony is scheduled for June 16 at the Mitchell Center on the campus of South Alabama. The event is organized in conjunction with First Light Community, and Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer will be the special guest speaker. Joe Niland, who has a notable coaching career at Spring Hill College and the University of Mobile, is recognized for his significant contributions to basketball, including multiple championships and national tournament appearances.
