Medite Smartply has announced a significant €75 million investment to modernize its medium-density fiberboard (MDF) manufacturing facility in Clonmel, Ireland. This initiative marks the 50th anniversary
of the MEDITE brand and represents the largest current investment in MDF production in Western Europe. The project aims to enhance supply resilience for customers across the UK, Ireland, and Europe, while reinforcing the company's commitment to manufacturing in Ireland. Key upgrades include the replacement of the biomass boiler system and improvements to fuel handling and fiber drying processes. The facility, which operates continuously, produces approximately 400,000 cubic meters of MDF annually.
