What's Happening?
The Victor Valley Union High School District, led by Superintendent Carl Coles, is participating in a 200-mile relay race to raise funds for a student scholarship. The team, consisting of 12 runners and two drivers, is taking part in the Ragnar Road SoCal
relay from San Diego to Huntington Beach. Each participant has a personal motivation for joining the race, and collectively, they aim to support a deserving student with a scholarship. The initiative aligns with the district's core values of living a purposeful life and maximizing potential. Donations for the scholarship can be made online, with contributions starting at $3.
Why It's Important?
This initiative highlights the commitment of educational leaders to support students beyond the classroom. By participating in the relay, the district staff not only raises funds but also sets an example of community involvement and teamwork. The scholarship will provide financial assistance to a graduating senior, potentially easing the burden of higher education costs. This effort underscores the importance of community-driven initiatives in supporting educational opportunities and fostering a culture of giving and support within the school district.
