What's Happening?
The Drum, a prominent marketing publication, has acquired a significant portfolio of B2B marketing programs from ANA Business Marketing NYC. This acquisition includes the Global ACE Awards, Marketers of the Year, and the Annual Conference | B2B Day. As
part of this strategic move, The Drum is set to launch B2B World Fest Miami, a three-day international event designed for B2B marketing professionals. Scheduled for November 8-11, 2026, the event will feature a senior-level conference, leadership forums, and prestigious industry awards. Cathy Smith, formerly the executive director and chief growth officer at ANA Business Marketing NYC, will join The Drum as executive director, B2B US, to lead the company's growth in North America.
Why It's Important?
This development marks a significant expansion of The Drum's influence in the B2B marketing sector, both domestically and internationally. By integrating established industry programs and awards into its platform, The Drum aims to strengthen its position as a central hub for B2B marketers, agencies, media owners, and technology partners. The launch of B2B World Fest Miami is expected to become a key event on the global B2B calendar, attracting industry leaders and fostering collaboration. This move could enhance The Drum's ability to provide comprehensive insights and recognition within the B2B marketing community, potentially influencing industry standards and practices.
What's Next?
The Drum plans to establish a B2B Strategic Advisory Council, comprising senior representatives from its B2B community, including business brands, media, agencies, and technology firms. Initial members include Bader Rutter, Stein, and Transmission, with more announcements expected. The Drum will also expand its B2B awards program, organizing it into four distinct tracks: Creative Aces, Effectiveness, Go-to-Market, and Industry. These initiatives aim to highlight strategic, creative, and commercial excellence in B2B marketing, further solidifying The Drum's role as a leader in the field.
