Emerson has introduced new features to its DeltaV Automation Platform, version 16.LTS, aimed at reducing automation costs and enhancing cybersecurity. The update includes the DeltaV IQ Controller, which operates in a server-based environment, and a flexible subscription model called DeltaV Flex System. This allows companies to scale their use of the DeltaV distributed control system according to market demands. The update also supports Profinet over Ethernet-APL for high-speed connectivity in manufacturing operations. Enhancements include secure, read-only access to control room data and integration of third-party software applications into the DeltaV interface. The platform maintains its ISA System Security Assurance Level 1 certification,
ensuring secure-by-design practices.
