Ferrara Candy Co. has announced plans to invest $675 million in constructing a new manufacturing facility in Orangeburg, South Carolina. This 750,000-square-foot plant will be the company's first in the state and will include processing and packaging
operations, a warehouse for raw materials, and an administrative office. The first production lines are expected to be operational by the first quarter of 2029. This investment is part of Ferrara's strategy to meet high consumer demand and strengthen its position in the sugar confections market. The company, a privately held affiliate of The Ferrero Group, operates over 30 facilities worldwide and employs more than 9,400 people. Its products are sold in over 60 countries, featuring brands like NERDS, SweeTARTS, and Trolli.
