What's Happening?
Augusta Technical College has received a $6.8 million grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce to establish the Jim Hudson Automotive Institute. This new facility will be located at a former Cadillac
dealership on Walton Way, occupying approximately 33,000 square feet. The institute aims to provide hands-on training in dealership operations, fleet maintenance, and emerging vehicle technologies. The project has been in planning for over four years, with significant contributions from local stakeholders, including a $1 million donation each from the Augusta National Golf Club and the Jim Hudson Automotive Group. The initiative is designed to address workforce shortages in the automotive industry by equipping students with the necessary skills for high-demand careers.
