Consumer Reports has released a survey evaluating customer satisfaction among major appliance retailers, revealing that Abt Electronics, based in Glenview, Illinois, outperforms well-known big box stores
such as Costco, Lowe’s, and Home Depot. The survey involved over 9,700 members and assessed large appliance purchases. Abt Electronics emerged as the top retailer for customer satisfaction, receiving the highest score among 23 retailers. The store is noted for its 114,000 square-foot showroom, which includes unique attractions like a 7,500-gallon saltwater fish tank and offers fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies to visitors on weekends. Abt Electronics excelled in categories such as selection of appliance brands, customer service, delivery service, and website usability. In comparison, Costco ranked fifth, recognized for good value in kitchen appliances but scored lower in five out of seven categories. Home Depot and Lowe’s were in the lowest quartile, with average scores across categories.
