What's Happening?
Williams has officially commenced construction on the Northeast Supply Enhancement (NESE) project, an expansion of its existing Transco pipeline system. The project aims to increase the pipeline's capacity by 400,000 dekatherms per day, which is sufficient
to supply energy to approximately 2.3 million homes. The groundbreaking ceremony took place at Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn, attended by key figures such as U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright and EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin. The NESE project is designed to meet the growing energy demand in the Northeast, particularly in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. It is expected to be operational by the fourth quarter of 2027, providing reliable and affordable natural gas during peak demand periods.
