What's Happening?
Savills Ireland has acquired The Building Consultancy, a specialist advisory firm in the Irish market, to enhance its building surveying and project consultancy services. Founded in 2007, The Building Consultancy has established itself as a key player
in providing technical due diligence, pre-acquisition surveys, and project management services. This acquisition allows Savills to employ over 30 specialists in these areas across Ireland. Mark Reynolds, managing director of Savills Ireland, emphasized the importance of building and project consultancy in investment and financing decisions, noting that the acquisition strengthens Savills' ability to provide comprehensive technical insights and reporting. Alan Baldwin, managing director of The Building Consultancy, expressed that joining Savills is a natural progression, allowing them to extend their expertise to a broader client base.
Why It's Important?
The acquisition is significant as it enhances Savills' ability to offer comprehensive consultancy services in the real estate sector, which is crucial for clients making investment and development decisions. By integrating The Building Consultancy's expertise, Savills can provide more robust technical assessments and insights, which are increasingly important in the face of evolving regulatory, financial, and ESG requirements. This move positions Savills to better serve the needs of occupiers, funders, and property owners, potentially leading to more informed and strategic investment decisions in the Irish real estate market.
