What's Happening?
ASX-listed company Adisyn has obtained worldwide exclusive rights to commercialize a graphene-based radar signature reduction technology. This development marks a significant transition from research to commercial development for the technology. The rights were
granted through Adisyn's subsidiary, 2D Generation, which owns 2D Radar Absorbers. The agreement was made with Ramot, the technology transfer company of Tel Aviv University, known for its leadership in advanced materials and applied physics. This agreement replaces a previous option arrangement and establishes long-term access to Ramot's intellectual property, setting defined economic terms and a clear path to commercialization. Adisyn plans to focus on improving the radar absorption performance, manufacturability, and scalability of the technology for commercial deployment. The company anticipates the cost of a 12-month research program to be under A$100,000, with plans to establish a production facility in collaboration with a large industrial manufacturer.
Why It's Important?
The acquisition of exclusive rights to this technology positions Adisyn at the forefront of the rapidly expanding market for radar-absorbing and stealth materials. This market is driven by the increasing deployment of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), loitering munitions, and defense modernization programs. The technology represents a multibillion-dollar opportunity across aerospace and defense applications. By securing these rights, Adisyn can leverage its graphene technology platform to tap into the growing demand for advanced stealth materials, potentially leading to significant commercial success. The agreement also strengthens Adisyn's strategic partnerships with UAV manufacturers and defense primes, enhancing its competitive edge in the industry.
What's Next?
Adisyn plans to conduct a 12-month research program to enhance the technology's performance and scalability. Depending on the program's results, the company intends to establish a production facility with a large industrial manufacturer to supply UAV manufacturers. This move is expected to solidify Adisyn's position in the market and expand its strategic partnerships. Additionally, Ramot will receive a 4% royalty on net sales and a 19% equity interest in 2D Radar Absorbers, aligning both parties' interests in the technology's commercial success.
