What's Happening?
Strategic Energy Resources (SER) has been awarded two grants totaling over A$400,000 under the Queensland Government’s Collaboration Exploration Initiative (CEI). These funds will support drilling activities at the Diamantina Copper-Gold Project and the Bulimba
Gold Project. The Diamantina project, located south of Cloncurry, received A$275,000 to explore potential mineral extensions. The Bulimba project, near Chillagoe, received A$137,500 to test a gold target. A joint venture with Sumitomo Metal Mining Oceania is in place for Bulimba, with preparations underway for the upcoming drilling season.
Why It's Important?
The grants highlight the Queensland Government's commitment to fostering mineral exploration and the discovery of critical minerals. This funding supports innovative exploration techniques that could lead to significant mineral discoveries, potentially boosting the local economy and creating jobs. For SER, these grants validate their exploration strategies and enhance their capacity to pursue promising projects. The involvement of a major player like Sumitomo Metal Mining underscores the potential of these projects to attract international investment and collaboration.
What's Next?
SER is preparing to initiate drilling programs at both project sites, focusing on finalizing land access agreements and logistics. The execution of a binding joint venture agreement with Sumitomo Metal Mining is anticipated, which will further solidify the partnership and facilitate the exploration efforts. Successful exploration could lead to the development of new mining operations, contributing to the supply of critical minerals and supporting the global demand for resources.
