What's Happening?
The James Hart School eighth grade girls basketball team recently celebrated their achievement of securing fourth place in the Class 4A state competition. This event was hosted by the Illinois Elementary School Association. The team, coached by Christopher Blankenship, had an impressive season with a 17-1 record in the regular season and a perfect 16-0 in conference play. Their journey to the state tournament included victories over Crete Middle School and Flossmoor’s Parker Junior High. In the state competition held in Normal, Illinois, the team advanced to the Final Four after defeating Minooka Junior High. However, they were defeated by Downers Grove Herrick School in the semi-finals and subsequently lost to Arlington Heights South School in the third-place
game, securing the fourth-place trophy.
