What's Happening?
American Uranium (AMU) has completed its 2025 resource expansion drilling program at the Lo Herma in-situ recovery uranium project located in Wyoming's Powder River Basin. The program involved drilling 50
mud rotary holes totaling approximately 53,460 feet, aimed at extending the existing resource base and advancing the project towards ISR mine development. The drilling results confirmed significant mineralized extensions, with intercepts extending up to 3 kilometers from previously mineralized drill-holes. An updated mineral resource estimate and additional drilling are scheduled for 2026.
Why It's Important?
The completion of the resource expansion drilling at Lo Herma is a crucial step for American Uranium in advancing its uranium project towards development. This expansion could bolster the U.S. uranium supply, which is vital for energy security and reducing reliance on foreign sources. The successful drilling results may attract further investment and support for the project, potentially leading to job creation and economic growth in Wyoming. As the U.S. seeks to enhance its domestic energy production, projects like Lo Herma play a significant role in achieving these goals.
What's Next?
With the resource expansion drilling completed, American Uranium plans to conduct a full geological evaluation of the results in early 2026. This evaluation will guide the next phase of drilling and project development. Additionally, Petrotek's hydrogeological testing report is expected soon, which will provide further insights into the project's viability. The company aims to update the Lo Herma Scoping Study in 2026, as it continues to grow and de-risk the project.
