Cummins Inc. has deployed the world's first commercial hybrid-electric ultra-class mining truck at the Caserones Copper Mine in Chile, owned by Lundin Mining. This initiative is part of Cummins' Destination Zero strategy, aiming to reduce emissions and support the energy transition. The hybrid system, developed in collaboration with Komatsu and Lundin Mining, integrates a Cummins QSK60 diesel engine with a high-power electric battery system.
